Businesses looking to save costs on their search engine optimisation (SEO) activities could be among those encouraged by the recent comments of one expert.

According to Patrick Altoft, director of search at Branded3, if it is done properly, SEO will pay for itself.

‘Find the right agency, who are going to do a really good job – saving a little money here or there on SEO is nowhere near as important as making sure you actually do a good job on SEO,’ he explained.

‘If you do a good job, it will easily pay for itself; if you do a bad job, you’re just throwing your money away. It’s really important to select the right provider – don’t just go for the cheapest one, go with one that’s going to do a really good job.’

Mr Altoft’s comments were made at the recent Technology for Marketing & Advertising event in London, which is dedicated to multi-channel marketing, media and advertising.
